New Features for the My Stream Connect App Are Here

Great news, Stream Team: a new update is available for the My Stream Connect app! It includes two new exciting features that will make your life even more effortless and friction-free: thumbprint login and credit card scanning. You can download the latest update right now to enjoy these new additions.

How to Update the App
If your device is set to update your apps automatically, you should be able to login and use the new features immediately. If not, we can help.

For Apple devices:

  1. Go to the iTunes App Store.
  2. Tap the “Updates” icon in the bottom right of the screen.
  3. Find the My Stream Connect app. If you don't see it, the app may have updated automatically and you can open it to start using the new features.
  4. Tap the “Update” button next to the My Stream Connect app to download the new version.

For Android devices:

  1. Go to the Play Store.
  2. Tap the three bars in the top left corner to open the menu.
  3. Select “My Apps & Games."
  4. Find the My Stream Connect app. If you don't see it, the app may have updated automatically and you can open it to start using the new features.
  5. Tap the “Update” button to download the new version.

How to Use the New Features
Now, you're ready to start using the new features! Here's a step-by-step guide on using the app's thumbprint login and credit card scanning abilities.

Thumbprint Login

Before you start, make sure you have your thumbprint saved on your phone to login. (Instructions for Apple and Android are here.) Your phone must have a fingerprint sensor in order to use thumbprint login.

  1. After the update, open your app as you normally would.
  2. Type in your username and password.
  3. When you tap “Sign In," you'll see a screen like this one that prompts you to enable Touch ID, which is your thumbprint login.
  4. Tap “Turn on Touch ID.”
  5. Place your finger (usually your right thumb) on your fingerprint sensor. Sensors are usually located on the device's Home button, but check your phone's user manual to be sure.
  6. When it successfully recognizes your thumbprint, you'll be taken right into your app.
  7. For future logins, you can simply touch the red fingerprint next to the password box and place your finger on the sensor.

If you're having issues with the thumbprint login feature, try tapping the red fingerprint, tapping "Cancel" and typing in your password. Then, follow the prompts to re-enable thumbprint login.

Credit Card Scanning

Note: The credit card scanner does not work on cards with flat numbers. It's best on high contrast cards with clearly visible, raised numbers.

  1. Open the app and tap “Make a Payment."
  2. Choose your payment amount.
  3. Tap “Choose Payment Method” and select “Pay by Card."
  4. Tap the bright pink “Scan Credit Card” button.
  5. Lay your card against a flat surface and line it up within the green boxes. The scanner will pick up your card number and take you through the rest of the payment process.

If you’re having issues, try again with good lighting and a clear contrast between the card background and raised numbers. Most cards will be compatible with this feature, but some may still need to be typed in manually.

This is just the first of many major updates headed your way on the My Stream Connect app. Download the latest version now, and let us know what you think! If you don't already have the app, get it here:
